Welcome! This site was put together to shed light on Borge Cederlof and his handcuff invention. We have done our best to make all the information we have available. Still a work in progress. Whether you are a collector or just generally interested and/or have more information please share. We would love to hear from you.

The kings silver

Police officer Borge Cederlof, Stavanger receives the Kings Silver Medal of Merit. Borge Cedererlof can look back at 37 years with the police force, hired in 1918.  authorized for use in the police force

With honor and dignity Cederlofs remarkable invention has now been authorized for use within the local police force. The invention that at first was not permitted is now receiving exceptionally laudatory remarks from police force leadership.

who can give more information?

A lot of people are still asking for information about the Cederlof hand cuffs. The short version of the story is that Cederlof was never able to get it into production. Eventually the patent was hijacked by one of his fellow country men, who, with patent in hand, left for the States to sell it there. Whether it is still in use there we do not know.

In loving memory of Borge Cederlof
